NGU Seniors v NGU County Team

Venue:  Kingsthorpe Golf Club GC  April 7th 2013

The traditional opening match of the season took place on Sunday the April 7th at Kingsthorpe. The County Team played off Scratch withe Seniors receiving a 3/4 handicap allowance. The Seniors fielded at strong side including debutants Alan Codling and Dougie Hill both from Peterborough Milton.

Wins for Messrs Carnihan & White, Mudge & Clayton and Bott & Brown put the County Team in the driving seat. Wins for Messrs Harris & Linney and MacDonald & Hill for the Seniors ensured that the match went down to the wire. However with the final match between Messrs.Tricklebank & Saker for the Seniors and Messrs.Campbell & Anderson for the County was halved giving the County Team a narrow 3 1/2 - 2 1/2 Victory.

I am sure both Teams will have taken heart from the result.
