The Northants 6 man team finished in 7th place, eleven shots behind the winners Nottinghamshire on August 14th 2014 at Gog Magog Golf Club.

We had taken the competition seriously with two practice rounds before the event, and had high expectations for the day. The highlight for Northants was the round of 73 by  Peter Collins, the joint second best round of the day, in his first appearance in this event.

The only player to break par on the day was Worcestershire's Bill Thompson with a fantastic score of 67.

Well done to everyone who played; we did everything right in preparation, but it just didn't happen on the day. That's golf!!!

Thank's to everybody for the commitment shown, and a particular thanks to reserve Gary Hardy. Gary was there on the day and caddied for Peter Collins.

Team was: Rodney Haig, Richard Cole, Brian O'Connell, Ted Dunn, Peter Collins & Andrew MacDonald.
