Northants Seniors v Worcestershire

played on Thursday July 28th.

A splendid summer’s day for golf greeted the players at Gaudet Luce GC. A new course bordering the M5 Motorway, where we both teams were made very welcome. A big thank you to the management and staff for their kindness, also to the Members for giving up the course for the day.

The morning Greensomes were closely fought, with a narrow 1 point advantage to the home side. However the afternoon Fourballs proved to be difficult, with the home side winning all of the matches.

My apologies to the Worcestershire team for the no show of one of our team members, which proved a huge embarrassment to the County team.

Thank you to the Worcestershire Captain Steve Wilkins who found a very capable replacement in Fred Savage. Fred was presented with a County Golf ball at the dinner as a memento of his day.

The next event in the Diary is the defence of the Midland Seniors Team Trophy at Kirby Muxloe.
