Northants Golf

Seniors v. Warwickshire

Monday 2nd July 2012

Harborne Golf Club

Harborne presented a very good course in fine condition, but playing conditions were difficult on a very wet day.
The morning greensomes were halved 3 all with good wins for Rodney Haig/Jim Tricklebank, debutant James Musson/Phil Longworth and Ray Beekie/ Keith Saker.

In the afternoon  the rain flooded some of the greens, but the match was  completed with a good win for Ray Beekie/Keith Saker and 2 good halves. However, Warwickshire winning 3 of the  betterball contests came sealed victory with a 4 point advantage.

The team's next match will be the crucial "Anglian Seniors League" decider against Suffolk at Felixstowe on Monday July 16th. Northants are current league leaders following victories against Cambridgeshire and Norfolk. A win would secure the championship, although we could loose and still prevail, in view of a significant advantage in holes up, in the matches to date.
