Seniors v. Norfolk

NGU Seniors played their second match in the new "Anglia Seniors League" season, with the course in fine condition. The day began with a 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 victory in the friendly morning greensomes.
In the serious afternoon session both teams recorded 5 victories in the 12 singles matches. However Northants were victors by 2 holes up thanks to comfortable wins by Howard May and George Hiams backed up by Richard Cole, Jim Pagan and late call up Gary Slinn.
Captain Jim Weston can now look forward to the final league match in July away to Suffolk in the knowledge that victory would assure their name on the trophy. Before then there are a couple of traditional friendly matches to be played.
