On a beautiful sunny day at Swaffham GC, the Seniors TEAM showed the overall strength in depth of the squad, and the will to win of every player.

With our top players encountering stiff opposition, it fell to the rest of the team to stand up and be counted.

A very tight morning score was littered with stories of Northamptonshire pairs coming back from 2 down to either win or half their matches.

The afternoon singles followed a similar pattern to the morning, with several players coming from behind to win.

A special mention of Ian Kerr from Peterborough Milton on making a winning debut.

The average handicap of the seniors team was 3.7, which shows the standard of golf played by the seniors squad at club level.

Thank you to Swaffham GC, its very friendly and competent staff made us very welcome.

This win now puts Northamptonshire seniors in a strong position to retain the Anglian League title.
