2021 Ladies Vets 1st v Lincolnshire match

28th June at Woodhall Spa (Bracken course) GC 

The Northants Vets 1st Team played their second match in four days yesterday on the Bracken Course at Woodhall Spa.   The excitement of playing on one of the best courses in the UK was obvious and the journey of 2 hours or more was well worth getting up early or staying locally overnight.

Playing again so soon after the previous match with 9 of the same team was a lot to ask but Northants played with the spirit we have come to expect.  After 5 matches the score was even and the last three matches went very close but, unfortunately, in Lincolnshire’s favour, to finish overall 5 matches to 3 on the day. 

The greens on the Bracken Course were as difficult as I’ve been told the bunkers are on the Hotchkiss course, maybe next year we will get to put that to the test if we are ever privileged to play at this venue again.

Next year’s  Captain, Liz Crow, barely containing her excitement at the entrance to the home of England Golf.
