2021 Ladies Vets 2nd v Leicestershire & Rutland match
Thursday 29th July at Scraptoft GC
The match against Leicestershire & Rutland took place at Scraptoft GC, a parkland course on the outskirts of Leicester. The selection must have been difficult with so many of the Vets wanting to play this course again, having fond memories of it from previous visits. The weather was blustery which made the course harder than it looked, and that, added to the fast greens, made it a challenge for both teams.
The Vets 3rd team had recently beaten Leicestershire & Rutland at home so this was a chance for Leicestershire to take revenge. The match was won by Leicestershire by a very small margin, 4 ½ to 3 ½. Northamptonsire put up a very good fight and the matches lost were also very close but more importantly played in the good spirit which makes this fixture a pleasure to play.
