The annual match against Leicestershire and Rutland Past Lady Captains took place at Kingsthorpe G.C. on a beautiful sunny day and both teams took advantage of keeping cool under the trees or umbrellas as the temperature rose to well over 27 degrees. As matches were concluded several of the ladies walked in to avoid staying out in the heat and headed for the bar to refresh themselves with iced drinks.
Everyone appreciated the Ploughman's Platter and Eton Mess that was served as the meal.
Many of the visiting team had never played the course before and this was reflected in the score as Northamptonshire were able to use home advantage and come out winners 6 1/2 to 1 1/2.
