Our ladies arrived at Rushden G.C. to discover that although the course was open, because of the heavy rain the night before buggies were not allowed on the course. This meant 2 of our ladies, Liz Swan and Carol Collins were unable to play and after some quick phone calls Julie Edwards was able to call on Rosie Cullis and Val Wesson to step in to fill the team. I must thank all these ladies for their support for NLPGC.
The course was playing long due to the damp conditions but the green staff had worked hard to enable us to have an enjoyable round. After 6 matches had finished the results were 3 each but then the last 3 matches saw Northamptonshire taking the honours thanks to our 2 substitutes. The weather was cold and occasionally with the odd shower but we received a warm welcome back in the club house with a meal of lasagne , salad and chips.
