Ladies Past Captains President's day

The day before we were to hold our President's Day competition at Overstone Park it rained torrentially and I was worried the course would be closed the next day, however we woke to clear skies and the course had been prepared with great care, the bunkers being classed as G.U.R .
15 ladies took part and played a stableford with prizes for nearest the pins on all the par 3s. However, after most groups had played 11 holes the heavens opened and the rain came to spoil the day. I made the decision to finish the game after 15 holes so we could retire to the club house for our meal of lasagne, salad and garlic bread followed by lemon tart.
The rain did not worry everyone and I was delighted to present the trophy to Pauline Hurley, delegate for Elton Furze, with 32 points followed closely by Sue Colby  from Whittlebury Park G.C. with 31 points.
A prize was presented to Pauline Hurley for nearest the pin on the 2nd hole and to Nita Pryer for nearest the pin on the 4th hole.
