Despite the excellent condition of the course, with the greens running fast and true, Northants failed to impress.
Loosing the morning Greensomes by one point despite victories for Alan Codling/Jim Tricklebank and Graham Jones/John MacCallum.
The afternoon Fourballs did not get any better with only a halved game to show until the last pair, Mike Abbotts/Malcolm Watkins recorded a narrow one up victory.
