Friday 14th June at Kingsthorpe Golf Club
Lead pair of home player Garry Hardy playing with Ted Dunn set the pace winning in both the morning greensomes and the afternoon fourballs. Wins for captain Jim Weston with Alan Codling and George Hiams with Keith Saker and a half for John Crouch (pictured) with Paul Gray gave Northants a one point lead going into the the afternoon fourballs.
Wins for Peter Collins playing with Martin Harris and the final pairing of Ernie Rayner paired with Paul Swain meant that the afternoon session was even. Northants therefore won by that one point from the morning, with every team member contributing to the victory.
