Seniors v. Staffordshire
Wednesday 10th September at Wergs Golf Club
Wergs GC in Wolverhampton is a very different golf course. The fairways are mostly lined with conifer trees of various colours. The 17th hole is unique, with a dual fairway one for faders and the other for drawers of the ball, with that fairway only 18 yards wide.
The weather was perfect for golf and the match very close, going to the last game which gave Staffs the narrowest of victories.
Our team put in a strong performance against a traditionally strong Staffordshire side.
A big thank you to Paul Gray who came into the team late on, due to a late withdrawal.
Also a big thank you to the Peterborough contingent who had a two and quarter hour journey each way.
Finally thank you to Wergs members for giving up their course for the day and the staff for who looked after us so admirably.
