Seniors v. Shropshire and Hereford
Friday 12th June at Kingsthorpe Golf Club
Goodness it couldn't get any closer, could it? It was a great day at Kingsthorpe with the course in fine condition. We were looked after superbly by the staff and with excellent fare. We were very lucky with the weather after a forecast of thunder storms, which did not materialise. Good wins in the morning by Ian Smith and Charles Gunn, and George Hiams and Paul Swain. A good start in the afternoon by Gary Hardy and Phil Summers who won 5/4, but we had a nervous wait for the last pairs, which we needed to win to half the match. George and Paul once again came up trumps with a good 4/3 victory.
