1st Team match vs Lincolnshire played on Monday 11th July at Market Rasen.

As Market Rasen Golf Course was quite a long way away several of the first team Lady Vets. arrived the night before and enjoyed an evening together before the match and this may have enabled them to bond together for the following day's play as the results will show.

First out were Carol Gibbs and Mary Mclaren both from Wellingborough G.C. who played Jackie Rayhill (Lincolnshire captain) and Rikki Czajkowski the result was a win for Northants 5 and 4.

Gill Snelson (Wellingborough ) and Tracy Bishop (Silverstone) played Yvonne Cook and Janet Jones with another win for Northants 5 and 3.

Gill Hodgson (Overstone ) and Lema Townsend(Wellingborough) played a very close game against Bev Coleman and Sheryl Gee this ended in a halved match. 

Karin Henderson and Anita Cordery both from Elton Furze G.C. kept up the winning streak  by taking Nancy Tatum and Julie Todd to the 18th hole and won by 2 holes.

Sue Pawson (Elton Furze) and Carol Collins (Kingsthorpe) were matched against Sue Bassindale and Nicky Plumtree an ex Northants player and fought to the final hole unfortunately losing by 2 holes.

Myra Landsburge (Nene Park) and Pauline Hurley (Elton Furze) played Ellen Phipps and Anne Doyle and put in a great performance to win 2 and 1.

Our final pair were Jane Ross (Elton Furze and Past Captain) and Maggie Davy (Nene Park) who came in at the last minute and put up a magnificent fight to go to the last hole and the last putt to lose by one hole.

Tracy Bishop, our Vice Captain, was Captain of the day and reported an excellent result on an attractive course well worth visiting again and thanked everyone in the Northants  team who made the long journey to Market Rasen. She also thanked the Club Captain of Market Rasen who saw off all the matches and provided drinks at the halfway house. She thanked the catering staff for an excellent meal and wished everyone a safe journey home.
