Wellingborough GC
1ST August 2016
The County Seniors entertained a Derbyshire team fielding five of their six man team who will be playing at Shirley GC next week.
The course at Wellingborough was immaculate, with superb greens.
All square at lunchtime, we hoped for a positive afternoon but the lower handicap Derbyshire players just came through, winning eleven points to seven points. A big positive was the pairing of Tim Johnson and Phil Summers winning
five and four in the afternoon. These two will play together at Kibworth GC later in the month in the vital Leicestershire match.
Thanks to Wellingborough for the way they looked after us, brilliant as usual.
A very enjoyable day, with good golf played in a great spirit as always.
It really is a special thing that we are lucky enough to do.
