Seniors v. Staffordshire

Monday 5^TH September 2016.

The seniors were outplayed by a strong Staffordshire side on an exacting golf course.

Alan Freeman and Ted Dunn a new partnership played well am and pm as did the new partnership of Paul Gray and Graham Castle.

Dave Thomson and John Bishop had to endure seven birdies against them in the afternoon better ball.

There was a very concerning situation in the morning when the group involving Gary Hardy and Neil Brown were attacked by a swarm of Wasps. Neil coming off worst with multiple stings. Fortunately no adverse reaction took place and Neil carried on for the rest of the day.

You can imagine the comments at lunchtime, stinger shots, waspish, buzzing around, etc.

Aston Wood is an impressive set up with a new £850,000 driving range and fitting complex.

A big thank you to Aston Wood for hosting the match and for looking after us all so well.

The seniors have one more match left against Bedfordshire. This will be the first fixture between the Counties for many years.
