Worcestershire Seniors v Northamptonshire Seniors

After the heavy rain the previous day, the match took place on a perfect August golfing day.

Cleobury Mortimer has three nine holes and the match was played over all twenty seven holes. The course has seen investment in the latest fairway mowers, I am told seven heads, which makes for lovely looking fairways with a wide stripe. The course was in superb condition and a credit to the green staff.

A closure of the M6 caused ourPeterboroughplayers to be delayed and a quick re organisation of the playing order was necessary.

The morning greensomes were close, with the home team taking a one point advantage into the afternoon better balls.

 The traditionally strong in depth Worcester team comfortably won the afternoon session to run out worthy winners.

 A mention for Ian Smith and Geoff Dyson of Peterborough Milton for scoring am and pm points.

 Thank you to Cleobury for hosting the match and to our team for making the long journey.
