ANOTHER VICTORY
An extremely hard-fought match on a difficult and very long (6979)course where unfortunately they had very recently hollow tined and sanded the greens. We got off to a slow start losing the morning fousomes 4 1/2 v 1 1/2 with tree halves and one mtach going down the last.
The afternoon matches were agin extremely close however the first three games all came in with a win meaning we needed just two points from the remaining three. A valiant effort from our last pairing of Mike Burnhope and Howard Boylan winning 4&2 secured the win 9 1/2 v 8 1/ 2 against a very strong opposition.
We are now level top of the EML with Notts (However they have slight points won adavantage) . We are one point behind Suffolk in the Anglian. In simple terms a win against Lincolnshire at Oundle would secure both leagues.
