2021 Ladies 2nd v Hereford & Worcs

Thursday 19th August at Northampton GC

The Ladies 2nd County team went into this match knowing they had to win to compete for 1st or 2nd place in the finals next week.
At the halfway stage Katie Amos and Jade Potter and Eloise Feely and Chelsey Sharp had secured foursomes wins edging the team into a two one lead. Pairings that already have a sound track record .
The six singles matches teed off after lunch and after 10 holes only Chelsey and Katie were up in their matches . Even our strongest player Jade was struggling against a formidable Hereford and Worcs junior .  All the team are fighters and Linda Sherry began to edge ahead going 2 up on the 15th hole . She won on the 16th and along with wins from Katie and Chelsey sealed the fantastic 5-4 win for Northants. A nail biting and thrilling finish to a match played in a competitive but friendly atmosphere.
The team will now play in the ladies 2nd Team Midlands South Final  against Berkshire at The Vale Golf Club , Pershore on Thursday 26th August . This is the first time Northants have reached the final for several years!
