2021 Ladies Vets 2nd v Lincolnshire match

Monday 7th June at Oundle GC

The match at Oundle was played in very contrasting conditions to our first match only two weeks ago, with a difference in temperature of at least 10 degrees, making the already “challenging” Oundle course that bit tougher.  True to form we complained about the heat but at least we weren’t in an airport in Portugal trying to get the last flight home!

Most of the Northamptonshire ladies had played the course before which was an advantage and, together with the team spirit I have seen at all the matches so far, we managed to come in with 2 wins and 2 halves.  The three matches lost were at the end of the field so I’m sure the heat played a part in the overall result of 5 to 3.

Oundle Golf Club could not have been more hospitable, the Catering Manager, Jemma was an absolute star keeping everyone fed and watered throughout the day.  Their motto is “the fun place to play”, I hope that the Northants Vets would agree that it was a day out to remember!  Thank you for playing ladies, it was a pleasure to watch.
