Another week, another season

After all the wet weather, the sun shone gloriously at The Shropshire in Telford. We were soon revived after an early start and keen to get out on a course that none of us had played before.It proved to be a good test of golf and was in tremendous condition, with growth on the fairways and quick,smooth greens.

The morning greensomes went our way with a number of tight matches and a strong perfomance from the middle order taking us to a 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 lunchtime lead. Shropshire & Hereford played strongly in the afternoon and this time it was their middle order that prevailed, taking the 4BBB games by 8 point to 4-giving them an overall            10 1/2 to 7 1/2 victory.

It was pleasure to welcome Mick Barnett and Steve Brightmore to the squad, both representing Northamptonshire Seniors for the first time. Steve paired with Jim Tricklebank proved to be the most successful pair of the day, taking all 3 points from their games.
