It was with curiosity that the Lady Past Captains arrived at Farthingstone G.C. for their match against Oxfordshire Ladies having heard rumours of the status of the club we were delighted with the welcome we were given and found the course as usual testing but interesting. After 4 matches had finished Northamptonshire had triumphed in all 4 however the next 2 matches saw Oxfordshire winning and then a win for the penultimate Northamptonshire pairing followed by a narrow defeat by the final match saw Northamptonshire winners 5 points to 3.
The weather was warm and not too hot which made for a delightful day and following the meal the ladies of Oxfordshire commented on the lovely setting of the course and are looking forward to welcoming us to their County next year. My thanks go to Chris Gore, Suzanne Silvester and Julie Edwards for all their hard work in making these days go so smoothly.
