2022 Ladies Vets Spring Meeting

16th May at Silverstone GC

It was a pleasure to welcome over 60 ladies from 10 Northamptonshire clubs to our annual Spring Meeting held at Silverstone this year. My starters Jackie Rolfe, Julie Edwards and Sandy Burgess set off all the players in sunshine, all be it a little windy and cool at times. Ladies were impressed with the course and how it has matured over the years. Everyone set off at their designated tee time and the pace of play was good. It seemed as if many ladies felt that they scored well on the front nine but not on the back, particularly the last three holes.

As the results came in, Liz Waine and Kathryn Stronach were kept very busy inputting all the scores to the relevant categories. Ladies enjoyed the hospitality of our host with some opting for tasty meals, wraps and baguettes after the game.

The raffle raised £178 which will go towards training for the junior girls.

Thank you to all the ladies that took part, all my helpers and Silverstone for being such welcoming hosts. Congratulations to all the winners and runners up, especially to Carole Cornforth from Wellingborough with a magnificent 45 points, winner of the Captain’s Prize for overall highest score from all categories.
