Ladies Past Captains Gina Evans 3 ball alliance

It was a pleasure to welcome 17 teams to the second meeting of the Gina Evans 3 ball alliance, this year held at Staverton Park Golf Club. My thanks must go to Denise Aitchison, lady captain, and Janet Lambdon who helped to arrange everything to make our day an enjoyable experience. The purpose of the competition is to raise funds for the training of grass roots golf for young girls and I am pleased to say we were successful in making £200 for this fund.

My committee worked hard ensuring the day ran smoothly, most teams managing to finish their round without being hampered by the rain which unfortunately affected the last few teams . The format was a stableford, the best two scores counting on each hole players being given 85% of their course handicap.

The winning team was Rosemary Scott, Mara Wright and guest Margo Lerin from Overstone Park G.C with 69 points on a count back from Sam Harding, Fiona Stevenson both from Staverton Park G.C. and Rosie Cullis from Collingtree G.C. Third place went to Carol Kane, Sue Colby and Danielle Edwards all from Whittlebury G.C. with 68 points and in 4th place with 65 points were Chris Gore from Delapre and Gill Hodgson and guest Kerry Hambleton both from Overstone Park.G.C.
Nearest the pin winners were Sue Colby on the 4th, Rosemary Scott on the 12th( a birdie) and Rosie Cullis on the 16th.
