Friendly Seniors Match v Derbyshire

27th July 2023 at Kingsthorpe GC

After a significant amount of rain in the previous 5 days the course looked very green from the Clubhouse, rather more so than when the County Seniors Championship was held at Kingsthorpe two weeks earlier.

Speed of play was brisk with the first group having an hour and a half to enjoy some test match cricket during lunch. 

Northamptonshire won the morning session, leading by 3.5 points to 2.5 points.

The afternoon proved to be rather more challenging, the level of golf was quite extraordinary with the first two matches finishing all square on the 18th having scored -26 under par between them. 

 The next three games went Derbyshire way with the last match finishing all square.

As usual we were made very welcome by Kingsthorpe GC with everyone enjoying the match and looking forward to travelling to Derbyshire next year for a rematch.
