A great win for the Women’s 2nd team against a strong and experienced Warwickshire ladies team.
The weather was warm and dry and NCGC did not disappoint. The course was in great condition despite all the rain we had had over the past few weeks. Warwickshire even commented what a pleasure it was to play such a lovely course.
The morning foursomes were tight but given we had a totally new squad and hadn’t been able to train together before the match some great partnerships evolved, resulting in a 2-1 lead to Northamptonshire.
The afternoon singles matches were tightly contested with most games finishing around the 16th, they were all played in a friendly manner and finished 6-0 to Northamptonshire with home advantage being the key as 4 players were from NCGC.
A great team spirit evolved on the day. The future of women’s golf in Northamptonshire looks good.
Overall win 8-1 Northamptonshire.
