Northamptonshire W omen's Past Captains  match v Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire

21st May 2025 at Whittlebury Park GC

The match took place on a very hot, sunny day and was interrupted by a very brief shower which was the first rain we had seen for weeks.  It did not dampen the spirit in which the match was played and many of the players had met before in previous intercounty matches.  In fact, Northamptonshire Vets had played the same County on the Monday before in their away match. 

Northamptonshire Lady Past Captains, on this occasion, got their noses in front and won the match 5 v 3.  

The Whittlebury course is holding up well to the dry spell we have seen recently and everyone seemed to enjoy their matches against worthy opponents.  

One match of note, which was won by 4&3 involved the Northants player, Gill Hodgson, giving away 19, 27 and 29 shots respectively.  Gill moved away recently and now lives in Cromer but has always been a huge supporter of the womens’ County Teams.  

Thank you to all the ladies who took part in the match, it was a very good win.
