The annual match against the Men Captains was played on Monday 9th June at Wellingborough Golf Club which was in excellent condition. The match was played in very good spirits with lots of laughter as old friends met in the bar beforehand. Wellingborough Golf Club were very helpful and provided a starter for the match. The lady Vice Captain of the club, Helen, came along to greet all the players and help everyone feel at home.
The match was won by the Men 295 points to the ladies’ 259 on a course which is very challenging and greens that were very quick. (all perfectly good excuses).
The winning ladies pair with 36 points were Gill Snelson and Diane Green, the Men’s winning paid of Richard Cole and Graham Jones amassed 42 points in a betterball format.
Our next match is with the men in an am/am format at Overstone Golf Club in October.
