On a windy day at Market Harborough the county seniors needed to win in order to to maintain the chance of winning the East Midlands and Anglian League titles.
The morning greensomes showed a deficit of one point to Leicestershire.
Every player was aware of the importance of the match and the afternoon fourballs.
The pairings and order of play were given a great deal of thought and it worked almost perfectly.
A huge effort was made and single point victory was the outcome.
Thank you to all the players who played in a great spirit and were proud to wear the county colours.
The biggest thank you goes to the golf club who showed how much they wanted both teams to be there, and enjoy the day. Bespoke menues were put out on the tables and the food and service was superb. Finally thank you to the members for giving up the course for the day.
