Both Sue’s title Hopes come true on own course

Wellingborough’s Miriam Johnson retained the NGL Ladies Intermediate title after finishing three ahead of the field with a gross 84 at Kettering GC.

An outward half of just three over par gross proved crucial as the defending champion finished ahead of home club member Sally Bingham, who won the net prize.

The NGL Bronze Championship saw a Kettering double as Sue Hope dropped just two shots on the par five holes to clinch the gross plaudits with a 96, while Sue Mobbs, who finished runner-up alongside June Smith (Wellingborough), carded the leading net score of 71.
