Brendon Moss (Brampton Heath) became 2019 Northamptonshire Seniors Champion with a four shot victory from Billy Beard (Overstone Park) at Wellingborough GC.
After covering the opening 10 holes in gross level par, Moss birdied the short 11th, eagled the par five next, before adding another birdie at the 13th hole.
The two-handicapper dropped a couple of shots on the closing few holes but a round of 70 was still enough to hold off the challenge of Beard, whose scorecard included six birdies, with Overstone club-mate Alan Freeman in third on 78.
Moss also led the net scoring by two from Beard (net 70) with Overstone’s Aidan Clubley (73) in third on countback, while the age group winners were Kettering’s Tony Ferns (55-59), Overstone’s Andrew MacDonald (60-64) and Peterborough Milton’s Ted Dunn (65+).
MacDonald combined with Beard and Freeman to claim the Gross Team prize on 230, while the Net Team award went to the Peterborough Milton trio of Geoff Dyson, Mark Johnson and Dunn on net 222.
