County make another piece of history

Northamptonshire were crowned Ladies County Vets Team Champions for the first time in the 12-year history of the event after beating 15 other teams at Beau Desert GC.

In a tournament including Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire, Suffolk, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Shropshire, the Northants quartet of Gillian Curley, Karen Lobb, Mary MacLaren and Gill Snelson triumphed by three shots from Staffordshire

Lobb won the net prize over 36 holes and was runner-up in the gross category, where MacLaren finished third.
