COUNTY MATCHPLAY RULES 2011

THE RULES AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING THIS COMPETITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:-

Rule

1

Entrants will be the top 16 available qualifiers from theCountyChampionship.

2

The Competition Committee of the NGU will make the seeded draw.

3

The host Club players should arrange courtesy for visiting players.

4

 Matches will be Singles Match Play and must be played over 18 holes or less if a result is reached.  (36 hole final) 

5

 In the event of a tie sudden death will apply. 

6

 The matches will be played off scratch.

7

 The 1st to the 8th in the County Championship will have home advantage in the 1st Round and the winners of matches 1 to 4 in the draw will have home advantage in the 2nd Round. 

8

 The Semi Finals will be played on a neutral course. 

9

 The dates on the published draw must be adhered to and no extensions will be granted. 

10

 It will be the responsibility of players on both sides to arrange matches by the dates specified 

11

 The player winning the round will continue to the next round in the draw. 

12

 Any difference of opinion or dispute shall be notified to theUnionwhose decision shall be final.

13

 The result of each match must be notified by both Players, giving full details and results, to the Knock Out competition administrator of theUnionwithin two days of the match being played.   Failure to comply with this request may result in both players being eliminated from the Knock Out.

 All Players should be available to play in the Final, which will be played at Wellingborough GC on Friday 28th October 2011.

 Players are expected to conduct themselves in a proper and sportsmanlike manner.

 The Unionn or The Host or visiting Players can accept responsibility for theft’s and accidents.   Players are advised to arrange their own insurance cover against insurable risks.
