Within NGL we have a wide variety of teams which help the County offer competitive, playing opportunities to golfers of all ages. Starting with the youngest – our County Girls (U18) and Boys U12/14 plus U16 and U18 teams ensure we get the best out of our youngest County members. You can then progress to one of the County 2nd teams – male and female, before hitting the big time with the County 1st Men’s team and County 1st Ladies team. But even if you are of a certain age, your golfing life is definitely far from over! Our County Senior teams – again, both men’s and ladies’ – are, at the time of writing, probably our most successful teams to date. So, as in all things golf, never give up!
After the merger of the Men’s Golf Union and the Ladies’ Association, as the newly appointed Director of Teams, it was my goal to ensure that all teams were treated equally – whether this was in terms of coaching opportunities being made available, having kit to wear or simply offering people the chance to play for their County – and I feel confident in saying now that this goal has been realised. We are still learning and with your support we can keep improving and hopefully, keep winning. Our teams have had many successes over recent years and NGL’s aim is to make all our players the best they can be. I hope you will be part of one of these ‘winning teams’ – either now or in the future.
